“And I will give them singleness of
heart and put a new spirit within them.
I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart” (Ezekiel 11:19NLT)

Mix
Nescafe with Milo and we called it Neslo – very nice! Mix yellow with blue and
we’ll get the color green – amazing! Mix singing with acting and thus a musical
theater we shall enjoy – awesome! There is something magical when you add mayonnaise
into the omelet. A grandeur scene you’ll enjoy when you view the universe with
a telescope. A lively picture when you see it in colors. These are examples of ‘mix’,
‘add’ and ‘amplified’ effects. Mix and you’ll transform the same old thing new.
Add and you’ll expand or modify the same thing much better. Amplified and you’ll
increases the desire to enjoy thing much more than it really is. But none of
the ‘effects’ can really change the old thing into a totally new thing. God
can.
Read
Ezekiel 11:19 once more. God doesn’t say “I will
‘mix’ you with a new heart” or “I will ‘add’
a new spirit within you” or “I will ‘amplify’ your heart to be more responsive”
instead He says “I
will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within
them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them
a tender, responsive heart” When God desires to change a man and when a man comes in contact with God,
the Living God – he can never be the same again. He will become new; having a new
heart and a new spirit. Stubborn become responsive. Rebellious become
obedience. Sinful become sinless.
Life Application Study Bible comments “This new life
can only be the work of the Holy Spirit. It is God’s work, but we must
recognize and turn from our sin. When we do, God will give us new motives, new
guidelines, and new purpose.”
Have
you received your new heart?
Turn away from your sin
and turn to Jesus, the Giver of Life.
and turn to Jesus, the Giver of Life.
May the Lord graciously give a
new heart to you. Amen.
THINK
BIG. START SMALL. GO DEEP.
