Trust is the foundation of
leadership and also relationships. A trustworthy leader is rare and reliable
followers are in great demand. Receiving trust from others is a result of
character, confidence, and consistency. What is the first thing you think when
you deal with people you don't know, people you never have done any project
with before? For me, the first thing I think is: Can I trust them?
Based on my leading,
reading, observing and personal (learned) failures, there are few very basic
rules to be a trustworthy leader:
> Value character more
than success
> Focus on team goals
more than personal agendas
> Stay away from
politics!
> Do the right thing
regardless of personal risk
> Be accountable to
others
> Make a decision to
trust others first
