Peter F. Drucker, the
management guru, in his book, Managing
the Non-Profit Organization: Principles and Practices, writes:
"The leaders who work most effectively, it seems
to me, never say 'I.' They don't think 'I.' They think 'we.' They think 'team.'
They understand their job to be making the team function. They accept the
responsibility and don't sidestep, but 'we' get the credit. There is an
identification (very often, quite unconscious) with the task and with the
group. This is what creates trust, what enables you to get the task done."
