Baltasar Gracián (January 8, 1601 – December 6, 1658) |
The following are sound points of advice taken from three hundred maxims set down by Baltasar Gracian, a Jesuit scholar who lived in seventeenth-century Spain:
- Know your best quality.
- Never exaggerate.
- Adapt to those around you.
- Associate with those you can learn from.
- Don’t be tiresome.
- Plan for a bad future while your future is good.
- Don’t talk about yourself.
- The wiser do sooner what fools do later.
- Never complain.
- Don’t live in a hurry.
- Follow through on your victories.
- Quit while you are ahead.
THINK BIG. START SMALL. GO DEEP.
