Yesus Kristus Mati Pada Hari Rabu? Khamis? Jumaat? (Matius 12:40)

Make sense! Zakir Naik pula menggila, dia mengira dari Jumaat sampai Ahad, "2 nights and 1 day" (tonton YouTube). Matematik gagal!

Jadi, adakah Yesus mati pada hari Jumaat atau Khamis atau Rabu? Dan apakah pro dan kontranya? Apakah yang dimaksudkan dengan 3 hari 3 malam dan bagaimana kita harus mengiranya? Apa kata Firman TUHAN? 😊⚡📖 #ServeToLead #InjilMatius

Around the Cross We See

CLICK TO ENLARGE. FREE TO COPY.
Isaiah 53
Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
But he was pierced for our rebellion,
    crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
    the sins of us all.
He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
Unjustly condemned,
    he was led away.
No one cared that he died without descendants,
that his life was cut short in midstream.
But he was struck down
for the rebellion of my people.
He had done no wrong
    and had never deceived anyone.
But he was buried like a criminal;
he was put in a rich man’s grave.
But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
    and cause him grief.
Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,
    he will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life,
and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.
When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,
    he will be satisfied.
And because of his experience,
my righteous servant will make it possible
for many to be counted righteous,
for he will bear all their sins.
I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,
because he exposed himself to death.
He was counted among the rebels.
He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

Sunday Reflection on the Reason Luke 23:32-43 was Written

Paint by Kendall Beachey
“Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him [Jesus] to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left” (Luke 23:32, NIV).

Jesus was crucified between the two criminals. Right at the end of His earthly life He was still among sinners, the people He had come to save. Jesus was always like that. He hangs out in fellowship with the poor, the rich, the religious leaders, the shepherds, the fishermen, the tax collectors, the soldiers, the Jews and gentiles, children – all kinds of people – but especially, the sinners. Even now, He hangs out on the cross with criminals.

One of them asked Jesus to remember him when he came into His kingdom. He said: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (v.42). Like Zacchaeus and the others ‘unclean’ people in previous chapters, this criminal turned to Jesus in his hour of need.

He, I think, wasn’t sure precisely what he was asking – he needs help that’s all. He didn’t use theological language or jargons. He didn’t use prayer formulas. He didn’t take his guitar and begin to praise and worship. He has no time to think positive, doing yoga or use a set form of words. He simply knew that Jesus could help him. Right on the spot.

And one verse away, the forgiving God-incarnate, Jesus, dying on the cross, promised that the ex-criminal would be with him in paradise, that very day. “Jesus answered him, ‘Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise’” (v.43).

There were no conditions. This is not a cheap-grace-without-repentance teaching. The moment he called upon Jesus for help, he already changed his mind (repentance); knowing his need for savoir in his own sinfulness and receiving God’s grace and forgiveness. Jesus received the criminal as he was, and Jesus promised him more that he asked for (‘remember me’), more than he hoped for (‘today you will be with me’), and far more than he expected (‘be with me in paradise’).

Do you know what the implication of knowing
and understand this truth for you today?
It can happen to you too! Now!
It’s no different for anyone of us today.
“Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation”
(2 Corinthians 6:2).

My Easter Day Challenge to You, O Searchers for the Truth

"I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one can come to the Father except through me
”
(Jesus, John 14:6
NLT)

Nicky Gumbel, pioneer of the Alpha course, writes: ‘If you could meet any person in the past and ask just one question, whom would you meet and what question would you ask?’ When asked this, Professor Joad, then professor of Philosophy at London University, and not a Christian, answered: ‘I would meet Jesus Christ and ask him the most important question in the world – ‘did you or did you not rise from the dead?’

Easter is all about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ did rise from the dead on the first Easter Day then He is alive today and we can know Him.

One of Jesus’ controversial claimed in the Bible is that He claimed to be the unique Son of God – on an equal footing with God; “I and the Father are one" (John 10:30NLT). He assumed the authority to forgive sins; “Your sins are forgiven” (Luke 7:48). He said that one day He would judge the world and that what would matter then would be how we had responded to Him in this life; “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left” (Matthew 25:31-33). All these claimed are invalid if Jesus did not rise from the dead. His words are nothing and can be ignore if the resurrection of Jesus did not happen.

C.S. Lewis, in his book Mere Christianity, pointed out that if Jesus was not whom he claimed to be (as the above), then He must be a lunatic, a liar, or – the Son of God. In his own words he argued,
“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about [Jesus]: ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say. A man who said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

This coming Easter Day I challenge you, O searchers for the truth, to examine Jesus; His words, His claimed, and His resurrection from the dead with open mind and open heart. To take into considerations that Jesus is who He claimed to be – the Living Son of God. He died, He was raised and He is alive today. Amen.

The Ache of the Soul

“But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin,
yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.”
(Romans 8:10NIV)

There is an ache of the soul felt by those who do not have Christ in their life. Look at how human beings have searched and continue to search for God!

Instinctively, in our search for God, we know God is real. In our search, it is God's will for all of us to become fully alive. God does not want us dead, but alive. Our physical body only lives so long. Eventually, our body stops working and we die. Surely there is hope in the face of physical death. In the world, in the worship of things, money, power, status, and whatever else people worship in the world, there is death without hope. In truth, we have death in our body with no bodily hope. However, we are alive in our spirit… our spirit that will never die.

Sin is the great plague upon human beings. Sin is the great plague leading to our physical death. Look at the sin-filled tragedies of history. Look at the sin-filled tragedies of our current world. Does the human soul not ache for God? Indeed there is an ache in the soul to know and walk with God. However, the ache of the soul for God has a balm, a cure, a fix, a solution, an ultimate pain-reliever in Christ Jesus. For all the activities of all the people who have ever searched for God and not fully and truly found God, they can find God hanging on a cross.

What kind of God is this?
What kind of being is this?
Hanging from a cross?
Wouldn't a REAL god have taken over the world?
Wouldn't a REAL god would have conquered nations
and put all people under his dictatorial control?
A REAL god would not have permitted himself to be murdered, would he?!?!?!

But wait…the real God of all creation, the real God who created you, was a being of love. Your real God, your personal creator, was a being of sacrificial love. Your real God, your creator, sacrificed Himself so you and all other human beings could live in paradise for eternity.*

THINK BIG This is the God whom I worship, He died on the cross for my sin
START SMALL I can’t do [absolutely] anything
but to receive His righteousness for my sinful spirit
GO DEEP Only in repentance, obedience and joy in Him can I cure the ache of my soul.
Thank you Jesus for dying the Cross, You are worthy of all praise!

3 Reflections about Easter's Day.

Before Christmas, you can hear people proudly say, ‘Everyday is a Christmas!’ but seldom have I heard, ‘Everyday is an Easter!’ …Maybe because Christmas is the celebration of a birth. Well, almost everyone in their right mind would love to be reminded about the birth of the Savior. But how about the celebration for the death and the resurrection of the Savior? The world point out that death is the end of the games of life. Death means defeated. But not so with those who have their faith in Christ. For Him, dead is the beginning of life. Death had been won by His Cross. Death will have no more stings. Death will only bring us closer to God. The further sin can have any effect on us is the grave. He had won!
…since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all…
Here are my 3 reflections about Easter’s day. I hope it will bless you as it did for me. I hope it will spark your conscious as you realize how much Jesus when through to save you from your sins. I hope my reflection is not enough that you will dig the Gospels for yourself.
