“Be an example to all believers” (1Timothy 4:12NLT)
In one sense we are alone. We are individuals, we personally live, we personally die, and we must personally appear in the judgment of God. Everyone will give an account of themselves before God. Period.
Children watch you and copy your ways and speeches |
But in other sense we are not alone. Hello? No one lived to themselves. We somehow, somewhere, somewhat; direct or indirect influence others by our speech, by our conduct, by the whole act of our life. Suppose you tell lies; someone hears and knows. Suppose I tell you to ‘no given to drunkenness’ (1Timothy 3:3) or proclaimed ‘Jesus died for my sins’ – but one of these days you saw me drunken in a public place one night – How’s that for example?
Live for the world, for its pleasures and lusts, for self, someone is influenced. Children, the precious ones, watch you and copy your ways and speeches.
Then how can we “be an example to all believers”?
First, the heart within must be right with God. Have a genuine relationship with Jesus or else the external conduct; “in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity” (1 Timothy 4:12) will be unsatisfactory. Then, you must have peace of mind, that peace which God gives, that legacy, which Christ the Prince of Peace left to His followers who continue to abide in Him. Then, the ultimate characteristic of living example is this: There must also be likeness to Christ. Men must be able to take knowledge of you that you have been with Jesus.
“Be an example to all believers” And as you did, the unbelievers might take notice and eventually want to know who is your God – and that’s the beginning your soul winning journey! God be with you. THINK BIG. START SMALL. GO DEEP.
Thanks bro. Keep it up... God bless.
