Sorrow will only last through the night.

Cheer up!’ her friends said. How can she cheer up? Her cat was lost last week. Her wallet was stolen last month. That was not the worst yet. She lost her baby in a tragic accident last year. No words can cure the wound in her heart. No robe can reach the bottom of his heavy soul. Alone would be the best medicine for her.

This is your destiny…’ a well meaning so called friend replied his e-mail when he seek for comforter. My destiny? He asked his shadow. Why not everyone else? Why not Johnny? Why not Elizabeth? They seem strong. They seem able. Last time he was sleeping in a nice cool bedroom with a lavender smell from his personal garden. Now he is wearing green garment, plastic sandal and a tube decorate around his right wrist. Last time it was call home, now it calls hospital.
It’s not the pain that trouble them… oh it might… but it was a heavy sorrow that clouded their life that make it even harder to breath.

Sorrow is a common partner in human experience. It is guaranteed. It comes in a difference ways; predictable and necessary or random and tragic. Pep talk won’t settle it. Sleepover it will even make it worst. Like it or not, it will affect you profoundly for the rest of your life. It will also affect you even if you love God. When will it end?

Psalmist writes ‘Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.’ (30:5) Maybe you’re struggling with the lost of parent, friend or acquaintance along the road we call life in this earthly time. Get back at your feet. Stand up again. Your sorrow won’t be long.
Weeping may last through the night but soon or later it will be over. The moon will get tired and the sun will rise. The Bible says that God opens doors of opportunity to help you cope with and eventually overcome your sorrow. His comforting present will make you see that you sorrow won’t get the last word.

His promise of comfort and hope are for His Children. Joy will come with the morning. The sun will rise and moon will soon over shadow by His glooming light. And when the Day is coming… ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.’ (Revelation 21:4)

Remember; THINK BIG sorrow will only last through the night. START SMALL by viewing your sorrow in His perspective. GO DEEP Joy will come with the morning.
