Paul said to Timothy,
"An elder [or a leader] must be a man whose life is above reproach"
(1 Timothy 3:2). To be 'above reproach' also mean to 'be blameless' or 'well
respected' or what I like to put it: to have a good reputation. As a man, I
really think that having a good reputation is very crucial especially in the
