God’s Answers are Wiser than Our Prayers

Keep praying, and be thankful that God’s answers are wiser
than your prayers
!” (William Culbertson)

Much that perplexes us in our Christian experience is but the answer to our own prayers. We pray for patience and God sends us tribulation, for tribulation works patience (Romans 5:3-5). We pray for submission and God sends suffering, for we learn obedience by the things we suffer (Hebrews 5:8) We pray for selfishness and God gives us opportunities to sacrifice ourselves by thinking of the need of others (Philippians 2:4) . We pray for victory and the things of the world swoop down on us in a storm of temptation, for this is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). We pray for strength and humility and some messenger of Satan torments us until we cry for its removal (2 Corinthians 12:7). We pray for love and God sends suffering and puts us with unlovely people and lets them say things that fray the nerves, for love suffers long and is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

A test of faith is whether you are surprised when your prayers are answered – maybe not according to your ways… not instant or might be difference. Well, God knows best and God’s way is always the best way!
THINK BIG. START SMALL. GO DEEP.
