terrorist group Hamas rules the Gaza Strip while the democratically elected
Fatah governs the West Bank. Israel maintains control over all access to the
two territories. 8 of the 20 people groups in Gaza and the West Bank are
unreached by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

More than 4,000 Arab evangelical Christians worship in
Gaza and the West Bank, with about 400 to 500 believers in Gaza. Political turmoil
in the Palestinian territories has created an environment that enables militant
Islamic groups to persecute Christians. In 2011, local authorities in the West Bank
threatened a Christian group involved in outreach activities in a Bethlehem
suburb, and the team’s building and vehicles were vandalized.
